SmartStairway SL281X-ARGB Wi-Fi Controller (Product code: )

SmartStairway SL-281X ARGB Wi-Fi Controller is designed for lighting staircases, corridors, and passageways, providing illumination from entrance to exit and back for a specified duration. The controller is housed in a compact aluminum profile case with dimensions of 22×10 mm and is available in two variants:

• AL-15 profile for surface mounting.
  
• AL-16 profile for recessed mounting.
  

The controller consists of two modules:

• Master Module (135 mm long) connects to a power source (DC 5/12/24 V, matching the addressable LED strip’s voltage) and an ARGB addressable LED strip with up to 600 pixels. For optimal speed and smooth operation, it is recommended to use a strip with fewer pixels, as a higher pixel count increases current draw and complicates power supply and wiring selection (see user manual for details).
• Slave Module is powered by a 5/12/24 V source and communicates with the Master Module via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz). The included Slave Module is pre-configured for immediate use. If purchased separately, it creates a Wi-Fi access point on first startup to set the Master Module’s SSID and password. It also creates an access point if it fails to connect to the Master Module.

The Master Module is equipped with a laser rangefinder (detection range: 3–150 cm, software-limited) and an ambient light sensor for “Day/Night” mode and adaptive brightness (if enabled). The Slave Module includes only a laser rangefinder. The controller supports 10 standby mode effects and 5 active mode effects. Each effect allows selection of a static color or dynamic “Rainbow” mode, with customizable activation speed and brightness.

In adaptive brightness mode, a threshold for complete darkness can be set for standby and active modes. The controller automatically adjusts lighting brightness, smoothly dimming in low-light conditions, scaling from the maximum brightness (per settings) to the adaptive mode’s minimum in darkness.
